About Bearings
Today’s southern man wants a full life but marked by his own unique identity. He desires clear choices, fewer distractions—a simpler, richer existence rooted in the place, and with the people, he loves. So do we.
That’s why we created Bearings. From dinner plans to helping the needy, adventure seeking and everything between, we’re on a search for quality and meaning—to do good work and play well.
WHY “BEARINGS”?
Life is demanding. We need a credible voice to guide us through the din and haze of culture. In a world overloaded with information, how does the modern man navigate to the products, causes and experiences worth his attention?
That’s where we hope to help. Bearings strives to produce straightforward but distinctive editorial content to make the art of living well easily accessible.
HOW IS IT DONE?
Through our free bi-weekly email newsletter and website, we aim to give you a heads-up on the things that shape your days—great restaurants, date spots, new music and literature, happenings around town, outdoor activities, attire and more.
Sign up to have Bearings sent to your inbox every other Thursday, or check out past editions in our online archive.
WHY SOUTHERN?
The South’s distinctive culture is built on hospitality and grace, making it like no other community we know. While we love exploring other parts of the world, this is home and always will be.
WHO ARE THESE GUYS?
We’re two southern men who are passionate about exploring our city and connecting others to it. Like you, we want to draw out the elements of our culture that will make us wiser, more creative, adventurous, productive and fulfilled men.
We’re here to enhance your southern lifestyle—to help you gain your bearings.
